Is This You?

  • You've been active in the Haystack community for at least 6 months
  • You already have one or two public contributions - a blog post, a talk, a tutorial, or a consistent presence on Discord
  • You contribute regularly - not occasionally or one-off
  • You care about open-source AI and enjoy helping others

We welcome people with different strengths: public speakers, writers, educators, and community helpers. We also want to represent communities in many different places.

Ambassador Perks

Direct Line to the Engineering Team

Direct access to the Haystack core team for questions, early previews, and feedback on your work.

Event Support

We support events you organize or speak at - from local meetups to conference talks. Reach out and we'll work something out.

Travel Support

Geography shouldn't stop you from speaking or attending. If travel costs are a barrier, bring it up - we'll see what we can do.

Building Your Personal Brand

We amplify your posts, talks, and tutorials through Haystack's social channels to get your work in front of more people.

This isn't an exhaustive list - it's just a starting point. If you have an idea for how we can support your work, bring it up. We'd rather find something that actually helps than stick to a fixed menu.

Common Questions

Do I need to be a professional developer?

No. We welcome writers, educators, community helpers, and public speakers. Contribution type doesn't matter - consistency and genuine engagement do.

Can I represent other projects too?

Yes. Being part of other ambassador programs is fine. We just ask that there's no direct business conflict with deepset.

How often are applications reviewed?

Quarterly. You'll hear back within a few weeks of each review cycle. If the timing doesn't work out, you're welcome to reapply.

What's the time commitment?

There's no fixed minimum. We look for regular, sustained activity - not a specific number of hours per month.

What if I'm not in a major tech hub?

Geography isn't a barrier. We actively want representation from communities around the world.

Is there any cost to join?

None. The program is free - we provide support, not the other way around.

Think You're a Fit?

If you're already contributing to the Haystack community and want recognition and support for your work, we'd love to hear from you. Just tell us what you've been building.
